Channel 4 programme featuring QE2

QE2 fan

Last June when we were aboard QE2 on a Mediterranean cruise, there were 2 people filming all aspects of the ship. I asked one of them what channel it would be shown on and when. I was told it would be on Channel 4 (UK) later in the year, but as yet the programme had no name. I was wondering if anyone has seen this programme. A friend of mine says they recently saw a programme about the QE2, but not being really interested in cruising, they were unable to tell me what was shown or what channel it was on. Did anyone see this programme and was it the one filmed last June in the Med?

About 6 weeks ago there was the cookery programme "Masterchef" which had the contestants cooking in the Lido Cafe and also for one of the Restaurants (can't remember which one .) There were several views of the ship and lots of shots around and about. I'm not sure when it was filmed, however and I recalll it was BBC 2. It was very interesting - so that could be a possibility.

I'm pretty sure the programme in question was called "The Art of Travel" and was presented by a Alain de Botton.

Cant' remember exactly when it was transmitted. Seem to remember he loved the ship but didn't seem to be in a great hurry to repeat the experience.

Hope that helps.

Tim.

Sounds likely - there's a rather scathing Gruaniad review:

Thanks for all your replies, but neither of the programmes mentioned was the one filmed last June. As was pointed out the Masterchef programme was filmed at the end of the World Cruise, and I saw the Alain de B. programme before we were onboard last year, so it looks like I'll just have to keep watch, as it probably hasn't been transmitted yet. Thanks anyway.
