Weagle Posted April 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2006 My wife and I are heading to Alaska on the Sapphire Princess this September. We expect the temps to be a little on the chilly side to swim in any outdoor pools (not counting hot tubs). Does the Sapphire have any pools that are indoors or covered, if so, which ones? I've looked through most the reviews and can't find this anywhere. Any responces would be appreciated.
TheBohemianAbroad Posted April 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2006 Calypso Reef and Pool is located in the Conservatory and is apropos for cooler weather cruising with its retractable glass dome
mii Posted April 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2006 Aimee is correct. It is a covered pool but on warm days they do open it up. Have a great cruise on her. She is a great ship as we cruised on the Sapphire to Mex. Riviera. Marilyn
Weagle Posted April 19, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted April 19, 2006 Thanks. So are all the rest then open to above? We'll be in Alaska during the rainy season.

Cruisin' Chick Posted April 20, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2006 We were on the Sapphire in August '04. Sometimes Alaska can be sunny and in the 70s so plan on dressing in layers just in case you get nice weather. The day we were leaving for the port, some people who just finished their cruise said they wore shorts the whole week. The weather changed for us: mostly rainy and in the 60s. The covered pool was pretty popular.
