Question for Tom or Sally re: Mexican Independance Day

Hi Tom & Sally-

 

I will be in Cozumel on September 16th, which happens to be the Mexican Independance Day. I was planning on renting a car and driving around the island. But now I am a little worried about the holiday activities. How big is Independance Day in Cozumel? Are roads closed for any parades? Will it be difficult to get through the traffic?
