count400@yahoo.com Posted April 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2006 I know this may seem like a crazy question, but when you use the water slide what happens to your scuffs that you leave on the top deck? I guess you have to walk all the way back up to the top deck with no shoes? I know that there are many people wondering about this. Tony

ngl116 Posted April 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2006 last cruise the deck was so hot where the entrance to the slide was you HAD to wear your shoes in line! We never made it to the slide though, line was too long.

We never made it to the slide though, line was too long. First off you should wear shoes, since the deck gets very hot! But, if you take them off, the attendant at the top will let you take them off, and if you hold the shoes on the way down, that is okay. I hold them for two seconds, and throw the in back of me, and meet them at the way down. The attendant really doesn't care. Out of curiosity, what type of staff works at the slide?? Don't tip the guy who is managing the slide. He will say he is the last person you will see until you get to the bottom.:D
MrPete Posted April 21, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2006 First off you should wear shoes, since the deck gets very hot! Silly! Just follow the trail of water back to the top!

MrPete Posted April 21, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2006 The wet trail always evaporates. Geez. How is that possible with someone coming off the slide every 20 seconds?
crazidude1400 Posted April 21, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 21, 2006 I dunno, but ever since I really hurt myself once (i think a my roomsteward pushed me on deck for not tipping). Ever since then I wore shoes.
GT108 Posted April 21, 2006 #9 Share Posted April 21, 2006 Hi, First time Carnival cruiser. Are the water slides a part of the pool or do you need to pay extra for it? I will be cruising on the Sensation later on this year and was confused by the OP comment regarding tipping the attendant. If you have to pay extra for it, how much do they charge for it? Thanks

Thanks No, there is no charge, but there is a person keeping an eye on things so no one crashes into an unsuspecting person at the bottom.

The ignore button will work best on people who don't provide valuable information. The slides are free, and there is no tipping. The Sensation slide will deposit you in the main pool on the Lido. cruzeluver Posted April 21, 2006 #12 Share Posted April 21, 2006 No charge for the waterslide. And no, you are not expected to tip the attendant. Have to say, I really didn't care one way or the other about the waterslide before we sailed, but once I gave it a whirl, I was ten years old again! (I am 34.) Lots of fun!!! :D

crazidude1400 Posted April 21, 2006 #15 Share Posted April 21, 2006 The tipping thing is a joke--it goes back a couple days. I cannot imagine there being a clear tube. I actually, would be scared.

I even hate the glass enclosed staircases that go from the veranda down to the Lido deck. NO WAY I will go on a slide that suspends me over an ocean. crazidude1400 Posted April 21, 2006 #18 Share Posted April 21, 2006 That would be suspenseful, but they have to make it SUPER SAFE. I dont' want any problems like the spirit or pride. Also, it doesn't look like someone could get good speed on the miracle slide... Which goes faster, conquest/destiny class, or miracle class? MrPete Posted April 21, 2006 #20 Share Posted April 21, 2006 Which goes faster, conquest/destiny class, or miracle class? Definately Miracle! But not while sitting. You must lay on your back.
crazidude1400 Posted April 21, 2006 #21 Share Posted April 21, 2006 Definately Miracle! But not while sitting. You must lay on your back. Really! I thought I could go faster on the destiny...I seems more vertical. It seems that on the miracle the best place to gain speed are those two turns at the beginning. MrPete Posted April 21, 2006 #22 Share Posted April 21, 2006 I went down so fast I crashed into the stairs at the end of the trough. The bruise on my butt was so big and bad I couldn't wear white the rest of the cruise
