Formal Dress for Women

Hi,

 

Do women typically wear ankle length dresses on formal nights or can it be shorter. Also, do all colors work or do most women wear black?

You do not have to worry about wearing floor length or ankle length gowns (although highly acceptable). Black is always appropriate, but many colors of the rainbow can be seen in the dining rooms. What you will find most interesting is seeing the individual passenger's perception of what formal is. Let's just say tunics and pants can make many appearances.

It's about 50/50, shorter cocktail dresses and full length gowns.

Thank you so much. That helps a lot. I thought I needed to get a floor length gown and I've been having a hard time finding one. It's much easier to find shorter dresses.
