Coolcruise02 Posted April 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2006 I have read some reports the casino opens 1/2 hour out of port, others say the don't open on the short hops between islands. (leaving one pier late and arriving early at the next) Can any recent cruisers clear this up? When was the casino open? Thanks :)
Lsimon Posted April 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2006 Casino opened 1/2 hour out of port. On Sea days slots opened at 9AM, tables at noon. I didn't frequent casino's, but these are the times from the daily programs.

Lsimon Posted April 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2006 Lsimon.........Thank you. I read a post that you said you had the best snorkeling in Kona. Whre did you go? Thanks :) We went on the Captain Zodiac excursions through the ship, to Kealalkekua Bay. I think it was called Raft and Snorkel or something like that on the Celebrity excursion brochure. I don't think you can drive there (but not sure about that) and there is only one other excursion which goes there - the Fairwinds which has timing too tight to make from the ship in our opinion (too early start v. arrival time). http://www.captainzodiac.com/snorkel.html
Rence Posted April 25, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2006 Just got off the Summit and I did frequent the Casino. It was open 1/2 hour out of each port. On Sea days it was open at 9am with tables open at noon and generally stayed open each night until business dropped off. On the return it was closed for an hour or two while we were in Ensenada. Lsimon Posted April 26, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 26, 2006 I just finished putting up pictures of our Hawaii cruise on the Summit - and it does include some pictures of the snorkeling in Kona as well. http://simon-pics.smugmug.com/Cruises/178259
