Late summer is when we start to see big storms brewing. It's rare to see them May/June.
TVMet Posted April 29, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2006 Hurricane Season doesn't begin until June 1st. Even the normal "Florida afternoon thunderstorm season" doesn't begin until June (which would effect the Bahamas too). Even though the season begins in June, hurricanes that early would be very rare. The rates are proabably lower because the summer season rates doen't kick in until the first or second week in June.
