cashing Travellers cheque

Does the ship offer the service for passengers to cash in their Euro denominated travellers check? Due to high rate of pickpocketing in Europe, what is the best alternative to pay our driver?

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

In one word, DON"T. We were on a Med Cruise two years ago and thought we would be "smart' by taking AM EX cheques in Euros. Big mistake! Many places refused them and the few that did , did with extreme reluctance. What we discovered was that there are ATM's everywhere which we could have/should have used (Just make sure your PIN number is four digits ONLY - European ATM's don't 'recognize 5 digit PIN numbers).
