exlandlubber Posted April 29, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2006 I know that the Maasdam just came out of dry-dock for a number of improvements. My husband and I will be celebrating our silver anniversary with a trip on June 3rd from Boston to Montreal. Can anyone give me any tips or information on this cruise? We're rookies, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, folks.

cruisingclay Posted April 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2006 :)Hi exlandlubber We will be on the same cruise. Come on over to roll call 6/3 Maasdam. I went up to Boston in April of 84 and ran in the marathom, but only got to see about 26 miles of it. We hope to book the Titanic tour in Halifax. Do the bike tour in Bar Harbor and the rafting ride on the Jacques Cartier river in Quebec. Only 34 more dam days. Clay
exlandlubber Posted April 30, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Hello all, I notice a number of wine oriented offerings during the various dinners and events. Are wines offered by the glass or does one have to buy the whole bottle? If so, can the wine be brought back to the cabin? Do any of the dinners (i.e. in the Pinnacle Grill) include wine with the $20 surcharge? Boy, my lack of knowledge as a "soon to be exlandlubber" is pretty extensive. Thanks for any information. arlenez Posted May 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Hi: You can purchase wine in the dining room by the glass or bottle. When you purchase a bottle they hold it for you and bring it to you each evening. You are not allowed to take it to your cabin. Hope this info helps. gizmo Posted May 1, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Unless something has changed you can ask to have the bottle sent to your cabin. We have done this in the past.:)
elmorejj Posted May 1, 2006 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Ditto Gizmo. We have often had the leftover wine brought to the cabin..........jean:cool:
dangeloha Posted May 1, 2006 #8 Share Posted May 1, 2006 we too are cruising from Boston on June 3rd. This will be our fourth cruise on Holland America and second on the Maasdam. I am planning day tours for this cruise. I suggest you go to the web site of each port and select tour since this would be most cost saving than arranging a tour on the ship. I suggest the trolly car tour in Bar Harbour really covers alot of beauty and history. We are celebrating our retirement on this cruise. Have fun and happy anniversary!:)
arlenez Posted May 1, 2006 #9 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Sorry if I provided incorrect information. I was under the impression that you could not bring the wine to your cabin. Regards, Arlene
