Durban Posted April 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2006 What sort of discount do you get when booking a new cruise while on a cruise? Is it worth while?
espmass Posted April 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Every deal is a little different. I just booked a new cruise while on one a few weeks ago. We did an open booking meaning it can be used for any cruise in the next 4 years. Then we also turned it over to our TA so we will actually book through him when we're ready and get his good prices. The deal was only a $100.00 totally refundable deposit and we got $150 shipboard credit. If you think you'll be taking another cruise, it's usually a good deal but the prices are not necessarily better than you'd get elsewhere.

rjg41 Posted May 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2006 As said earlier you will get shipboard credit for booking on board, the amount depending on the length of the cruise you book. The fare will be what anybody else pays at that time. Celebrity/Royal Caribbean does not allow discounting. They do not discounst and a TA cannot discount. You can transfer the booking to a TA and you keep the onboard shiipboard credit and a TA may provide you additonal shipboard credit or other on board gift, but as stated earlier, may not discount. There is one exception to this in that RC/X does very occasionally offer fares only visible to TA's for certain cruises and which a client will think is a discount. These fares are not available by direct booking with the cruiseline and not all TA's can or will use them.
