Mooguy Posted May 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2006 On the Princess excrsions for Skagway they offer the YUKON EXPEDITION & WHITE PASS RAIL for $169.00 or the WHITE PASS SCENIC RAILWAY for $100.00. Does anyone know if you are getting the same train ride with both? Is the extra $69.00 woth the added Yukon Expedition? Thank for your help. momthecruisedirector Posted May 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2006 We did the White Pass Rail and Trail excursion through Princess last year and it was fantastic. The ship will dock right next to the train - and I mean right next to the train. It will take you about 1 mile to the train depot where you'll transfer to the train you'll be taking to just where you enter the Yukon. If you take this train trip you'll want to hustle to get a front left hand seat (won't matter which train car you get into) for the best views as your going up the pass. It is a beautiful and educational trip (not at all a boring trip). It's an amazing history lesson in addition to a sightseeing trip. When we got to the Yukon we transferred to motorcoaches and went to Liarsville, it was like an extra bonus - where you pan for gold, eat a salmon dinner, watch a live show. When you're back in the motorcoach the driver will stop for photo opportunities and if you ask he/she will drop you off in town (Skagway) where you can do some shopping or more sightseeing if you didn't walk to town before your excursion. We would recommend this excursion to everyone.
