From Southampton Pier to National Express Coach station?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how far the National express Coach Station is from the Pier where Princess docks? What is the best way to get there? How long will it take and the approximate cost? Thanks.

This should go on the Britian board but it takes about 5-10 minutes by cab and last year costs about 5 pounds. There are plenty of cabs to take you over there and you can buy your bus tickets on line. look for summer specials if that is when you are going. Last year I got in a special for a buck to London

I have used National Express coach to Dover and Southampton. It's the way to go. It is by far the cheapest and easiest, no stairs to haul your bags up and down. And the scenery is nice. In southampton go inside to call a cab if none are waiting.

FWIW, the website below will tell you where your ship will be docked in Southampton.

There are 2 main areas where the large cruiseships dock - the Eastern Docks (which are really at the south end of the city) - Princess is usually at Piers38/39, and the Western Docks - Princess is usually at Piers 105/106. You may sail from one location and disembark at another.

The Western Docks are closer to the railway station, but neither location is that far from either the train or bus stations so there wouldn't be a significant difference in the taxi fares quoted by other posters.
