WeLovetheSea2travel Posted May 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2006 Does anyone know if the Oceanview cabins on deck 5 of the NCL Dawn are equipped with coffee makers? If they are, do you you if they are filtered dripped coffee makers. We are coffee lovers and just need to determine what to bring.
smeyer418 Posted May 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2006 The Dawn has a kettle that boils water and you get instant coffee. But you can always get a pot of coffee from room service and its not that bad. I always give a $1.00 or so for just a pot of coffee to the deliverer and it never took more than 5 minutes for just a pot.
seahorse Posted May 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2006 You can bring a French Press or one of those little drip pots or a single travel drip maker by Black and Decker and bring your own ground coffee:) Much better then any coffee on the ship. We are coffee lovers and just need to determine what to bring. On our recent cruise, we were on deck 8. As smeyer posted, the coffeemaker was a pot where you add the water and it boils the water. The coffee is instant that you add to the water. There were also tea bags in our cabin. My MIL's room just around the corner did not have a coffeemaker and she was told that many of the cabin coffeemakers had broken and not yet been replaced. My husband is something of a coffee snob (loves Starbucks). He usually just made tea in our room and then got coffee in the Garden Cafe or in the Venetian (for breakfast). He didn't rave about the coffee, but he didn't complain about it either, so it must've been okay. (I know I would've heard about it if the coffee was terrible.)
