QM2 room service- off menu items

Just out of interest has anyone asked for anything other than the food items listed on the 24 hour room service menu and been pleasantly surprised? I recall traveling on the QE2 in 1995 and you could order whatever you wanted for room service and I had some lovely fruit and rose hip sorbet!

Only ordered room service for breakfast and did get oatmeal , which I believe was not listed on the menu.

Unfortunately we are not in a suite- just a regular stateroom!

On one trip we used to put something different every morning as an addition that wasn't on the menu. Every time it arrived!

You can order whatever you want for food in your room, and if available somewhere on the ship, it will be delivered. Just have to ask. Even in the dining room, we asked for Shrimp cocktails every evening (Brittania) and my son loves strawberries dipped in chocolate. They were served every night and we never had to ask after the first request. Never on the menu, but available. Just ask.
