rhodes Posted May 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2006 What is the best way to get currency for the ports of call on the Baltic Cruise---Brugge, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Tallin, Gdansk, etc. Do you withdraw money from an ATM machine on land, will the ship exchange currency for a good rate etc? Brugge, Amsterdam and Helsinki all use the Euro so no need to change 3 times for those ports of call. Unfortunately all your other ports use different currencies. I've agreed to pass on any "leftover" currency to a friend's mum as she cruises later in the season than us rather than changing small amounts back to either Sterling (UK) or US$. JodiBB Posted May 10, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2006 We used left over monies to tip the wait staff and the cabin steward. We converted the amounts to USD and then gave them the Scandanavian currency as they will be returning within the week or two and can use those currencies much more than us.
