MSUBB1 Posted May 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2006 We are thinking about booking for a March 2007 departure, but I keep hearing about "residency discounts" that the cruise line releases for certain states. If you book early to snare a particular cabin, is there any way to find out if/when they offer a "residency discount" and will they apply it if you have already booked? (assuming I booked myself on line and didn't use a travel agent) One bonus question! If I decide to book a certain catagory (like a JS) could I change this to a higher catagory later, or does it involve cancelling and re-booking? Thanks!!! :D
isujim Posted May 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2006 I believe the only way is to have your ta keep checking. Happened to me last month. We booked the Mariner 18 months in advance.......found out about a residency discount 30 days before sailing.........still got the discount........but ta had to keep checking. You can upgrade your booking at any time without having to rebook..........again have your ta call. If it is available, you get the upgrade at the going rate.........you will keep your same booking number.
