Dumb Questions?

We've got a cabin in Catagory 8E on the Conquest and can't tell the difference between 8A, B,C, or D. Is there? Also, We've always had the 6:15 seating and had the same schedule down.....EAT..show, CASINO, Karaoke, etc. We thought we'd try something different this time and try the late seating. I've realized with my 17 year son who says, "what happens on the ship, stays on the ship." Crap, starts young, huh? anyway, I'm afraid he'll miss the fun stuff the kids like to do his age that they always have planned in club O2. Should I try to change our dinner back to 6:15 if it's not too late? We don't leave till July 9. Thanks for any input.

The letter denotes location on the ship. Nothing more. It's the number that denotes differences in a specific cabin type. And the "teen disco" closes at 10pm or so.

Yep, the letter usually is what deck you are on. A's are on the lowest deck. F's will be on the highest deck.

We just cruised with our 17 y/o son and 15 y/o daughter. I would do the early seating. They might miss some things for the teens. Although, since you are on the Conquest, I believe the teens have their own disco so it might not be as big of an issue as it was for my kids. We were on the Miracle and the teens don't have their own disco. Their had teen hours in the reg. disco from 9:30 - 10:45 so if we had had late dinner, they would have missed some time in the disco.

Generally a balcony cabin in 8a is the same as 8b, 8c, 8d etc.. Location in the ship is the only difference.

We like the late seating when we leave our kids at home.(11 year olds) Gives us time to watch the ship sailing from port, take our time getting ready for dinner after a long day in port, maybe even sneak in a "Nap" before an evening of fun. Don't know about teen activities, but I'm sure they're is always something going on.

The early seating is better if you have teens onboard. Taking a later seating the kids have a lot of downtime. Activities are closed between the hours for 5-7 except of formal nights..and is hoping between 8-10

Thanks so much to everyone for the help, but especially for not making me feel "Dumb". What's weird is My profile says late seating...8:30 and I called Carnival today and the lady that booked my cruise said we're down for the "later" early seating, but we really won't know till we get there. Oh well, what ever it is.......I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again Fun People!:)

Usually the 8E are on the higher decks. We tried the 6:15pm dinner time and it was a hit with us, that time frame is just right. 5:45pm is too earily and 8:30pm is way to late.

On ships with two "sittings", both 5:45 and 6:15 are considered "Early/Main". I generally dine at 6:15, and my invoice always says "Early" when it comes to dining. Late tends to mean 8pm or 8:30. As such, I'm confused by the statement from your TA/PVP.

And, yes, your dining request is just that. A request. If you have any problems with your dining assignment, please see the MaitreD the afternoon of embarkation. The exact time/place will be in your Capers.
