couple ?'s about Conquest

Hi,

Long time reader, first time poster.

My DH and I are thinking about going on the Conquest cruise out of NO.

I'd like to know about a couple of the specialty places on board.

I think it's called the Fan bar that serves coffee and various treats and the sushi bar. Are these two places extra charge or are they included?

Also, how hard is it to attain a table for two in the dining rooms? We prefer to dine alone.

About 1 1/2 yr ago we took the NCL cruise on the Star in HI (beautiful ship) and we ended up eating at the extra charge restaurants everynight. (dining room food on the first night was absolutely awful)

Thanks for any help.

I love this site, keep up the good work.

Yes, the dessert and coffee bar with wonderful cheesecake that I ordered every night is extra! Well worth the couple of bucks and large enough to share!

I don't remember the sushi bar being extra! I don't eat it!

The supper club is wonderful and totally 5 star! If you expect that kind of service and taste every night, that's where you will be eating every night.

The food on the Conquest is good and they offer alot of variety. The dinning room was hit or miss. Somethings were good and others not!

We really enjoyed our stay in May 2003 and will be boarding again in Nov. 2004.

Your can request a table for two but thats what it is a reguest. WHen youboard head to the dining room and see where you are located. If you are not happy find the Matre de and ask for a change. (it will be located in the capers where he will be)

Sad that your dining experience onNCL wasnt better. You should have asked for a change. Thats what they are there for.

We have sailed the Conquest twice and plan to go again in September. We have found all the food to be very good. You definitely want to try The Point--wonderful food and great dining experience--well worth the extra money! Happy Sailing!

The specialty coffee and pastry bar on the Conquest is called Cafe Fans. It's on Impressionist Blvd. near the Casino. The sushi was free. The Point Supper Club was very good, but the the whole dining experience there took about three hours from start to finish so make sure you allow yourself that much time before planning anything else afterwards.

Conquest does have tables for 2. We were assigned a table for four by ourselves. We were at early seating if that makes a difference.
