DreemWeaver Posted May 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2006 I have been checking out the "Weather Underground" reports and it seems that Coz and Belize are forecasting thunderstorms and clouds for all of next week. Is this typical at this time of year? I am sailing to Key West, Coz, and Belize, leaving on May 22nd from Ft. Lauderdale. Any advice regarding weather? Thanks. superjerryw Posted May 17, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2006 In the Caribbean it is not unusual to have rain for 30 minutes and then have the sun come out. We were on a cruise just a couple of weeks ago that stopped in Antigua. I had made a reseravation for a day pass at a resort about 35 minutes away from the pier. It was very cloudy when we got off the ship and it started to rain as soon as we got in the taxi. It poured all the way there with the rain finally letting up about 2 minutes before we arrived at the resort. Within 20 minutes the clouds had passed and it was sunny for almost the entire day. I remember another cruise where someone checked the advance forcast and it too was for rain every day of the cruise. Guess what, it only rained in one port and the rest of the cruise we had sunshine. I don't put too much faith in those long range predictions.
