Ft.Lauderdale Taxi

I will be flying into ft.lauderdale for my cruise in december, plannin to take a taxi into miami. there is 5 of us in total including myself, are there many minivan taxi's at ft.lauderdale airport?

Yes, there are many taxis and shuttles on hand. We had only 2 of us in a cab and the fare was about $79. The shuttle was only going to be like $12 less total for the 2 of us, and we'd rather not wait on shuttle and just get a cab on our own. Was very easy.

Or... you can rent a car and drive down yourself. After our cruise, we're heading to Miami and initially decided to cab it down there and was told it would cost roughly $85. But we somehow found a good deal through Avis or Budget, and got a convertible for $40 for same day return. We pick up the car after we disembark in Ft. lauderdale and drop off at the Miami location around 8pm, that way we have one full day with a car to explore various parts of the city. That's pretty cheap for transportation for 4 people down to Miami, not to mention we get to enjoy a (hopefully) leisurely drive down the coast in style!

 

But to answer your question, I was told by our hotel concierge that there are definitely minivan taxis readily available at the airport. To be on the safe side, you should try to call ahead. Enjoy the trip!
