Senior Discounts

Recommended Posts

It is far too general a question to answer.

You certainly would qualify for a Senior Citizen rate on the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway.

You certainly would not qualify for a Freedom pass for London Transport.

In other words, you need to be specific about precisely which attraction or facility you are looking at before you can get an answer.

But certainly, in many cases you will get such a discount.

For attractions you will often get a discount (usually only about 1 or 2GBP). No one has ever asked for any evidence of my mother's qualification for this, but it may be worth having your passport with you.

The previous poster is spot on about travel; you need a senior citizens card issued (and in some areas charged for) over here to UK residents.

Thanks for the info. The exchange rate being what it is, every little bit helps. We'll make sure we have our passports on us.

According to the pundits over here, the pound is due to strengthen yet further against the dollar by the end of the summer; may be worth buying them now?
