Grand Princess is about $300 less than Explorer (althought EOS has slightly better cabin). Simular ports. Did Sapphire last year-fun cruise with ok food. Liked the activities on Sapphire. Has anyone done both of these ships-probably not since the ports are practically the same! Or you could compare it to another voyager ship. please help. thanks

I have done Explorer in 2002 and Grand Princess in 2004 when she sailed to Canada, New England. Definetaly recommend Explorer if you are taking any children. The Grand was more geared towards an older crowd but it had a lot to do with our itinerary. I have sailed RCL 3 times, 2 have been on the Voyager class ships and IMO all three were much better than my 1 on Princess. Good luck!
