40thBirthdayCruiser Posted May 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2006 We are crossing from Southampton to New York on 29th May. It will be my birthday on 31st May. Does anyone know what Cunard will do for my birthday? Will they bring a cake to the table at dinner? Many thanks Anne
pnhmrk Posted May 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2006 Will they bring a cake to the table at dinner? Yes, but you do need to tell them in advance that it's your birthday. If you're lucky (and depending on your restaurant) all the waiters will stand round and sing "Happy Birthday"!
40thBirthdayCruiser Posted May 25, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted May 25, 2006 Many thanks for your speedy reply! I am not sure how lucky it is to be serenaded by the waiters! - I hope it doesn't disturb the other diners too much. I have told Cunard that it is my Birthday. Ballater Posted May 25, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2006 If you've told Cunard, you don't need to do anything else. They will have it noted and will definitely mark the occasion for you. Happy Birthday!! (By the way, we'll join in the singing, as we're sailing with you on this TA...can't wait. Heard from a meteorologist in New England that it should be smooth sailing.) whylion Posted May 25, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2006 You don't need to tell them -- they get the information off your passport. We have been onboard dfor my husbands birthday three times and they've brought him a cake each time without any prompting.
juliecat Posted May 26, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2006 I had a cake, singing waiters and a lovely card from the Captain for my birthday. It was quite nice. Julia
