I'm here - just waiting for Kevin to e-mail me back and confirm my balance so that I can make final payment.

Chad - welcome to your friends that just booked. Are you going to bring them to our meet & greet with you?

Olga - did you use the gym when you were on the Valor? What kinds of equipment did they have? Was it crowded there? I started a diet and exercise routine on January 1st, and since I don't want to gain back any of the weight I've lost, I definitely plan on using the gym during our cruise.

I can't wait to see my clock drop down into double digits this week!!! :D

What: It is a pre-arranged meeting where all of the cruise critic people (regardless of whether you are booked with the group) can meet and have a little onboard party.

When: Around 2:00 on June 12th (embarkation day).

Where: Not sure yet. Maybe at the aft bar on the lido deck. That's usually a good meeting spot.

Hope to see everyone there in 102 days!!! :D

Thanks for the info Snowball. I thought it might be a little party before embarkation somewhere in town.
Meeting on the ship is a good idea. I'll see if Lisa will do it. She's kinda shy around people she doesnt know as is my buddies wife who is going with us.

Chad - why don't you tell Lisa and your friend's wife about this site and let them read through our roll call. They can even create their own user names and join in the fun, that way by the time the cruise gets here they won't feel like we are strangers anymore - just friends that you haven't met in person yet. ;)

Chad-Welcome to our roll call.

Debbie- Yes, I definitely went to the gym. They have free weights, machines, eliptical cardio equipment as well as treadmills with T.V. screens. It does get crowded especially before dinner. I have late seating so I went at 5:30 and there was a lot of people at that time..

Thanks Olga! I knew the gymbrat would know the answer. ;) I'll probably go early in the morning (before breakfast) or in the late afternoon (before dinner). Hopefully it won't be too crowded then. I'd like to try out the elliptical machines since I've never used them before and they look pretty neat - or maybe sign up for a spinning class.

Hi everyone!

ChadsGate - Is Lisa a kdg. teacher? I'm a reading specialist and work with k,1 and 2. The best part of my job is that I'm not in one classroom all day..I think 20 some kindergarteners would try my patience. Today was Dr. Seuss' birthday and our kdg. teacher served green eggs and ham....we tease her that she's a first-year overachiever!! I think we have lots of teachers in our group...we'll definately all have to have a drink to toast the end of another school year!!

Olga - Welcome to the group! The most workout I get on a cruise is walking 2 miles each morning on the track. I belong to Curves at home and just can't get the same kind of workout on the gym equipment on board so I just stick with cardio! On our last cruise in Jan., I didn't gain a pound!

Sharon - The 2nd graders at our school have been off the wall lately...I think it's the lack of getting outside at recess to work off all that energy...still have too much snow on the playground!

Have a great day everyone!

Beth

You can email me at lhallspam@cinci.rr.com - just take out the word spam. I'll send you the info right away - I just don't want to make the room numbers, emails, etc. easy for anyone to access that is not part of our group. Sorry you've been having trouble.

I can't believe all the teachers - I guess this is just the best time for all of us to get away! My husband will have a great time making fun of us - he says its amazing to listen to a bunch of teachers get together and yak! :p

Chad, I posted your info to the website this morning. Connie, I hope we can get things figured out between your email and mine so I can add you on to the site. Anyone else want to share a little about yourselves? Just let me know...

Everyone have a great day, we're one day closer and really getting close to double digits! :D

Hi Everybody!
My name is Gabrielle, and my husband is Ron. I just got off of the phone with Kevin at Crucon and booked my room. I was still able to get the $1099.00 price for a balcony room. I also got the shipboard credit. I am so stinkin' excited. We didn't think that we were going to be able to go on the ship until December. What a wonderful price too! This will be our 4th cruise for both of us. 2nd on Carnival, and third time W. Caribbean. I did have to make my full payment today, but if anybody knows of anyone else who still wants to get in on the good deal he said that he has I believe two cabins left at the group rate. One of the cabins is 6348, it is above the disco and for that reason we chose to the balcony gaurantee. In my opinion the worst thing that can happed is that we still end up above the dance club, but there is still a chance that we will get a better cabin.
Talk to you all soon!

Gabrielle, welcome to our group! We look forward to talking with you before the cruise. I thought the price was a little high when we booked and was hoping for it to go down - but it has just gone up, up, up - so I would be excited to get in on the group price now too!!!
We have a web page with info about ports, the cruise, ourselves, etc. Its at http://home.cinci.rr.com/valorvoyagers - feel free to check it out and email me your info if you want to be included. My email link is on the page.
Have you thought any about what excursions you will do - anything helpful you can share?
I look forward to hearing from you soon,
Sharon

Hi Gabrielle!!! Welcome!! :D I can't believe you were still able to get the group pricing - that's so great! The last time I talked to Kevin he said we were all out of space, so either he was able to get more or a few people cancelled. Either way I'm glad it worked out for you!!!

We're down to 100 days tomorrow!! After we reach double digits the time seems to go faster to me. I can't believe that I haven't bought anything for the cruise yet (and I am a major shopper!!!)

Did anyone else start their cruise shopping yet? I don't think I need much, but might go to the mall this weekend and see what's out there so far.

I am still trying to email you guys, I emptied out some of my email to have more room. Hi Gabrielle. I started my shopping, got another bathing suit, and a few more things, and a wild victoria secrets pair of short pajamies. When I was getting some medicine out last night, I saw my suntan lotion and my aloe vera stuff, so I put it in the cruise bag. I have a few items of clothing, some new flamingo bracelets some new makeup and a few other things in a bag. What do most of you girls wear while cruising? What are the essentials of cruising for you ladies. Where can I get some cruise decorations? :D

Welcome Gabrielle! I noticed you signed off with "Gabby." Is that what you prefer to be called?

Connie, I like to wear nice things while cruising, so I don't even bring a pair of jeans. I have some, let's just say, brighter and tighter, outfits that I wear for cruising that I really don't have the opportunity to wear in Cleveland. While my teens tolerate me in those clothes on vacation, they would die if I wore them at home. My 13 year old DS told me to go change my clothes one day this winter when I wore a V-neck sweater from the GAP that showed even the merest hint of cleavage. He said, "Nice sweater, but not on my mom!" I also get my nails done bright in a color I wouldn't normally wear. Last year I had them done in a coral-orange color. Picture that with my lime green top and flowered capris with hot pink or lime green sandals. (The rest of the year I dress like the soccer mom that I am!) Need a new bathing suit though. I returned last year's to Nordstrum after our cruise when the white background turned yellow. They said it was probably from the hot tub, but took it back anyway!

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I was also very surprised that I was able to get the group rate. Kevin had said that there had been three cancellations. And that there is still 2 balcony rooms available. They are both for three people.

I was just wondering since this is a group cruise what is the difference. I tried reading all of the posts, but almost 40 pages is a lot. I did read something about it being more difficult to book excursions. This post was forever ago so maybe it is all figured out now. Also since we are booked as a group how does Carnival know to invite past guests to the past guest party? I didn't give Kevin my previous cruiser number. I haven't heard anything back from him yet, but it looks like the charge is pending on my cc. I can't wait to see where my cabin is. I really hope that we don't get the cabin over the dance club.

So a little about dh and myself...
DH is 36 years old, and is a manager at a Kia dealership. He has worked for the same dealership for quite some time. They just built a brand new store though. It is beautiful. If you can say that about a car dealership.

I'm 31 years old, and a full time student. I'm currently not so patiently waiting for an acceptance/rejection letter from the nursing department at my school. I am currently taking my last biology class, and was very excited when I got called for an interview. Usually you have to have all of your pre-req's done before they will consider you. If I get in I will be starting nursing school on March 28th. Then the day after final's week ends I will be sitting on the Valor, sipping, or possibly gulping (depending on how stressful my first quarter of nursing school is) foo foo drinks.

We don't have any human children, but we do have a few fur babies. We have two yellow lab puppies. One is 19 weeks today and the other one will be 24 weeks old on Monday. There names are Sampson and Maverick. We also have a thirteen year old cat named Felicia. When we are gone the dogs will either go to DH parent's house, or will get boarded where they go to daycare. I know it sounds crazy sending puppies to daycare, but we have noticed such an improvement in their behavior. The place that they go to is probably about three acres of trails and trees and play areas. They are always supervised and come home totally pooped out. It is so nice to have tired dogs. Let me tell you I had no idea that a puppy could have so much energy. Thank goodness housetraining is done.

If anybody has any questions about Cozumel, or GC fire away. I've only been to both twice, but did tons of research before going.

Later!
Gabby (i don't really have a preference, it's just easier to type Gabby than Gabrielle. Most people at school call me Gabby too).

Oh, and in May we will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary.

Hi Gabby,

Welcome to our group!!!! This has been a wonderful way to get to know everryone before the cruise. As well as make plans and get ideas for the cruise.

I have a cousin who is finishing up nursing school at the end of April. She is under a lot of stress!!! I know this because I keep her daughter almost every weekend now to help her out:eek: .

Well as for purchasing things for the cruise, I haven't done to much yet. I did buy my daughter a new bathing suit and my son got three new bathing suits for his b-day. I want to buy myself at least one new one, but would like to lose a few pounds beforehand:rolleyes: , but that probably won't happen.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. For those of you who are teachers, we have just finished our first week of standardized tests, it lasts up to ten days here , with all the make ups. Lucky me, I got to give 4 sessions of make ups, on top of the 4 sessions I had to administer. Well, you can imagine, how much I need this weekend. Hopefully, next week I will only get stuck with 2 sessions on Tuesday!!

Hi Gabby!

Where are you going to school? I teach nursing at Kent State University here in Ohio. Great for you getting an interview! With the nursing shortage we have so many applicants and the competition is real tough.
