Two great places to get "supplies" for a picnic, or a meal, if your cruise has these ports o' call:

San Francisco--Ferry Bldg. Marketplace, at Market and Embarcadero (a stop on the "F" line trolley). Individual shops with a wealth of high-end food (prepared or not) , wine, and cookware inside the building, plus a Farmer's Mkt. 3 days a week, out in front. Eat-in or Take-away.

Vancouver--Granville Island Public Mkt. (easy public transportation) Dozens of places to get a fantastic variety of food and fixin's. Wine shop to open soon. Eat-in or Take-away.
