kenziebaby Posted June 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2004 Hi... we just got home (last night) from a week on the Elation...and it was very nice. We had no problem with sea sickness, but both DH and I are having a hard time dealing with the rocking on land. It is just as bad today as it was yesterday, when we got off the ship. Any suggestions? Will dramamine help? Thanks...anxiously awaiting your reply... Karen
GoinCruisin Posted June 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2004 I rocked for 3 days... then it eased up... dramamine may help, we just waited it out... good luck!
upwardbutterfly Posted June 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2004 Just got back from elation yesterday also. Husband is still rocking. I am not having any trouble though. I told him to take some more motion sickness pills and see if they help.
dansize Posted June 28, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 28, 2004 I actually learned to enjoy the landside rocking. It freaked me out at first when I discovered it in our first port. It stayed with me for just less then a week after we got back. I miss it myself.
triplelutz Posted June 28, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 28, 2004 Try some decongestants - it helps equalize the pressure in your ears.
Dannzzigg Posted June 28, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2004 There have been a few suggestions mentioned, but I can't believe that the most obvious has been left out. Heck, I haven't even left for my first cruise and I think it's pretty obvious- Get back on another cruise as quickly as you can. From what I understand, it also acts as a great cure for the post-cruise blues, too. :)
mtd716 Posted June 28, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 28, 2004 I actually like the post-cruise rocking -- to me it almost makes it feel like I'm still on vacation. It kind of eases the transition back to reality.
SUSANITA Posted June 29, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 29, 2004 TAKE BENEDRYL!!! It helps alot, I promise! It's called Mal De Debarquement syndrome, there is info about it on the web if you do a search. It should be gone in 3-4 days.
