Aruba Power Snorkel

I just read that the Crown Princess is offering a excurision and it sounds a lot like the BOB underwater adventure being offered in St. Thomas.

This is what the Princess site says about this excursion:

Aruba Power Snorkel

Explore a colorful coral reef on a snorkel safari that travels by underwater scooter!

Board your motorboat at the dock for the approximately 30-minute cruise to a coral reef off Aruba’s southern coast. On arrival, receive your snorkel equipment, a safety orientation, and a brief lesson on operating your underwater scooter. Then set off with your guide on a tour of the reef, enjoying views of hard and soft corals, sponges, and schools of tropical fish as your glide effortlessly through the water. Snorkel equipment including safety vest, professional instruction and supervision are included.

Has anyone done this? Is it the same thing as BOB?

Thanks in advance.

The power snorkel is about the size of a desk wastepaper basket with handles. It runs off of batteries and has an enclosed prop that pulls you through the water while you snorkel.

I've done both BOB and this, and enjoyed them both.

Cheers,

Peter

Thanks so much Peter. I'm sure BOB was much better, but you do recommend this excursion? How fast does it go or do you regulate that with the handlebars?

Again, thanks for replying.

The power snorkels have a trigger that regulates the speed, they can move you pretty good through the water. The problem with BOB, I think is that it moved a bit slow.

They really are two separate things, both fun to do, but I would power snorkel again, but probably not BOB. The power snorkel allows you more mobility and great for pulling you under or just hovering.

Cheers,

Peter
