TRAVELIN LADY Posted June 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2006 http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2860833/0~2376776~2374327~6002274~2382066?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=2382066&P=1 The dress is chocolate brown and I don't like the color shoes the model is wearing. I have a wide foot so it's not easy finding shoes. Thanks!
10splyr Posted June 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2006 I agree w/you about the shoes: they are too wimpy! I think bronze strappy would be great. Check out Nordstrom's website for metallic shoes: they have a good selection, as does shoemall.com and zappos.com, and all 3 should have wide sizes. Good luck. awrightsd Posted June 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2006 Love the dress!!!! Of course, my favorite color to wear is brown. I have also been looking for shoes...there is a great show website: www.zappos.com I searched for brown wide sandals ...here is the link: http://www.zappos.com/n/es/color/6/d/722000227/heel_height/3/show_all/1/width/M_12/page/1/bar/1.html I like the Easy Spirit, Hot Girl SKU #7264034 shoe. I am thinking of ordering it in pewter for my periwinkle/purple dress posted on another thread. Amy
Bethwte Posted June 10, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2006 I agree with the idea of a bronze shoe, or perhaps a muted gold. Both would look lovely :)
thechandlers99 Posted June 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2006 Ditto on the bronze shoes. Or, how about a dark brown thong with turp accents like the ones on the link below. Brown and turq always looks gorgeous together. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/10957195/c/6.html
Jane110 Posted June 11, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2006 I think a metallic sandal in bronze, copper or dark gold would look great with this dress. That would give you the most formal look. To make it more casual looking, you could wear a strappy, sexy orange sandal with a matching handbag or some big, bold orange bangle bracelets. A pair of multi color orange/brown snakeskin sandals would look incredible.
suezyq50 Posted June 11, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2006 I bought a pair of shoes for a similiar colored outfit. They were called champagne. It is basically a muted gold.
mrgabriel Posted June 11, 2006 #8 Share Posted June 11, 2006 I would definitely go with a bronze or a richer metallic. A light toned shoe (goldy) will make your feet disappear, which will make you look like you're floating. The model seems to have a taupe shoe, and it seems like she is floating ... But this is just my opinion, of course!
TRAVELIN LADY Posted June 12, 2006 Author #9 Share Posted June 12, 2006 Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think I will go for the bronze or copper as I want to wear this on a formal night.
mrsfuzzmo Posted June 12, 2006 #10 Share Posted June 12, 2006 I would go with a print or something not too "matchy". Definitely don't try and match browns. I would wear something on this order. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/7722493/c/36709.html Mrsfuzzmo

THAT is my #1 choice so far.... I think I have to have those shoes.... They would look good with a black dress too.... Geez Mrsfuzzmo...I'm blaming this on you!;) :D
Nliedel Posted June 12, 2006 #12 Share Posted June 12, 2006 Jumping up and down. I love these questions. I LOVE THAT DRESS!!!! You know what. I'd go for tourquoise. I have the perfect pair too. Too bad you're not a 10 AND don't live next door!!!! OOOO but those animal prints Mrsfuzzmo suggested are a DREAM!
KamloopsCruisers Posted June 12, 2006 #13 Share Posted June 12, 2006 Mrsfuzzmo - I love those shoes too and think they'd be perfect with Travlinlady's dress. Oh, aren't we a helpful bunch? We've even helped Desperatehousewife who didn't think she needed new shoes until she read this thread.
mrsfuzzmo Posted June 12, 2006 #14 Share Posted June 12, 2006 Happy to oblige! I may purchase them myself. They would go with black as well. I just think with a solid color dress, especially a dark dress, you need something a little kicky to keep it fun!

CVL105 Posted June 20, 2006 #16 Share Posted June 20, 2006 I love gold with brown...I actually have a brown dress that I wear gold sandals with for weddings/cruises/etc... here's a few suggestions http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/12237998/c/57918.html http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/7310414/c/385.html http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/13201053/c/57927.html I'm not sure how high of a heel you like wearing...but those are a few I would consider wearing if I was wearing the dress. I love gold, so I say go for the gold! :o)
