I am not sure what brand we have but you should look for one that has programmable channels including sub-channels. That way you can hook together any number of w/t's as long as they are on the same frequency or channel.

and please get ones with a vibrate or silent mode so you won't disturb other passengers...

We got two packs of 2 from Best Buy and they all worked together. They were about $70 for each pack and had the longest range and weren't too huge.

To penetrate more than 1 or 2 decks you will need 7 mile range WT. We have them and have been able to talk from inside a 9 deck cabin to the business desk on 4 deck and the stores, when I was buying something that DW REALLY needed.

We've had our walkie talkies for several years and they only have a 2 or 3 mile range. However, we had no problems getting through from deck 4 to deck 11. I do recommend that you get the ones with sub-channels to give you better options and less likely to have someone else using the same channel. (We have sub-channels on ours.)

What brand of WT with 2-3 mile range worked like that? We originally had 3 mile and they pooped out after 2 decks. I am not talking about using in Centrum but from cabin to interior locations 5-6 decks away?
