Donyb Posted June 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2006 We'll be on the Noordam in the Eastern Med. We don't have a cell phone that will function from there. We're looking for recommendations on international calling cards such as those offered by Nobelcom. How easy are they to use, etc. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Starbright Posted June 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2006 I've had one for a few years. It's very easy to use. With the one I have you dial the appropriate number for the country you're in, then put in your own personal identity number, then you can dial the phone number you want. The card can be topped up from time to time using a credit card. However, I don't think you can use them from the ship. You would have to use a public phone in port. The cost of the calls using the card seems to be quite reasonable.
Spender Nui Posted June 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2006 Interesting. I used to use prepaid cards but they are almost unuseable any more. How does this work and are the charges reasonable?
cruznon Posted June 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2006 We recently changed our cell service to go with a company that has international service. (We got tired of not being able to use our phones when in port, while other pax could.)
