KAWS Posted June 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2006 A couple of posts mentioned VIP - what is that? We're booked in a category 11 suite - is this considered VIP? Or is that for a past guest or what? What perks does a VIP get? Kim
Curt Jerome Wild Posted June 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2006 If you're booked in Category 11, you'll get VIP boarding. It's your one perk (except for a nice suite;) ). When you get to your port, just keep asking and/or looking for the VIP boarding. You won't have to wait in the long line. Sometimes this alone can make the Cat 11s and 12s worth it.:D CJW

Or is that for a past guest or what? What perks does a VIP get? Kim VIP check-in is for people who have booked one of the suites and for the Platinum members. Sounds like you are eligible for the check-in. There is a separate expedited checkin for you, bypassing the sometimes long lines; you will also have priority boarding to the ship. It is a nice perk.:p When you arrive at the port, just have one of the porters direct you to VIP checkin. The Platinum members are the ultimate VIP's. One must have at least 10 Carnival cruises to become Platinum. They have the priority boarding and other perks aboard the ship during the cruise. Hope this helps. You are going to love the mini-suite Cat. 11. What ship are you on?

KAWS Posted June 15, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted June 15, 2006 Seamama, we're on the Liberty sailing out on March 11th. Thanks for the info re the speedy check-in. So glad I asked! I'll be sure to ask when we arrive. We're staying overnight in Ft. Lauderdale the night before and plan to be at the port by 11:30 or 12:00 latest. Don't want to miss a single minute! Ronath Posted June 15, 2006 #9 Share Posted June 15, 2006 We do have to say Carnival takes care of their platinum vip's. Priority embarkation, priority debarkation, priority tenders and other goodies, free wash & fold, bon voyage gifts, petit fours(?), canapes, concierge service. We'll be going on our 15th Carnival cruise this fall and must say that Carnival has really stepped up with this.
