cazlap1129 Posted June 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2006 We are sailing on the Spirit on July 2nd and my husband is an avid poker player. I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the poker games they have on board- are they tournament style? Buy in amounts? Texas Hold Em? 5 card? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Christine
GusX Posted June 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2006 They have limit cash games ... but there arent always players to play with. $2.50 / $5.00 blinds if I remember correctly. They also have 10 player $60 buy-in ( 50 + 10 to the house) no limit tournaments on sea days but you have to make sure you are there early for registration because the spots go fast ! Or can you register when you get on the ship? On a 10 day cruise, how many tournaments were there? Thanks so much!

They do want you to pay at the time of registration with cash or charged to your room.
Ginamarie Posted June 15, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 15, 2006 We were on the Spirit for 8 nights and they had either 2 or 3 tournaments of Texas Hold'um. They didn't have a regular table playing nightly though (which is what we experienced on the NCL Sea last year). DH preferred the nightly table set-up. The registration usually would start at 8:30 but you would need to get there atleast around 8:00 for there to be room.

Ginamarie Posted June 15, 2006 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2006 Just got back. They had Texas Hold um on a regular basis in the evening, not just the tournaments. My DH will be glad to hear that. It sounds like there have been a lot of (good) changes on the Spirit since we sailed her in November.
