Sailed Mariner 2 times going on 3rd in August, sailed Enchantment this past March Like you stated she is a smaller ship, but also very nice. We enjoy the Mariner mostly because not only is she a lovely ship, it only takes me 35 minutes to get there. As far as the kids I would say the Mariner because of all the things there are to do. You have to also factor in the fact that the Mariner is 7 Days an Enchantment is 4 or 5. Another reason I like the Mariner the 7 days is a perfect amount of time for us. The 3 an 5 days are not long enough, you get unpacked an it is time to pack back up. Also with kids of their age I would recommend the Western route over the Eastern, Think the older ones would really enjoy stingray city,an Dunns River Falls. JMO;)

In jamaica go with a escorted tour--not on your own. You can read it all on ports to get good ideas of whom you should contact. And check out the tubing--even the younger kids will like that. The falls are hard to do so the younger than 11 might find it too hard.... look into tubing. We put together our own excursion with Trevor Hudgins that will be fern gully, tour of Ocho rios, Mahagony beach, tubing and then drop us off at MargarittaVille. We are a family of 2 adults and kids, ages 11 and 9.
