gmadvm Posted June 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2006 What is the difference size wise between a category BA balcony stateroom and the mini suite on POH? Is it the same size room but with a bathtub instead of just a shower? Just wondering if it is worth the extra money.
Planer's Edge Posted June 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2006 On the Jewel (same as POH) a BA is 167 sq. ft. with a balcony of about 38 sq. ft. A mini suite is 231 sq. ft with a balcony of 54 sq. ft. I am not sure about the configuration of the mini's vs. BA, but the mini, on the SUN, had a nice walk-in closet and a seperate dressing area. bubiesmom Posted June 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2006 I am going to book a mini-suite on POH. It's not that much more and alittle extra elbow room should be nice. My husband and I are going with my 16 and 11 yr olds.
Stevie17 Posted June 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2006 You'll get a bath tub with a mini-suite as well. This may not be a big deal to most, but we travel with our two little girls, and it's a lifesaver.

gmadvm Posted June 22, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted June 22, 2006 i just called ncl and spoke to a cruise coordinator about the size difference of the rooms. she told me the BA was 167 sq ft with a 38 sq ft balcony and the AF is 335 sq ft with an 81 ft balcony. can any CCer out there confirm that for me? i'm pretty sure we are going to go for the AF anyway, but i don't want to get my hopes up expecting a larger room. glad to see some more positive reviews about POH. ;)
calmac Posted June 22, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 22, 2006 Try this link to find out the size of any cabin http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/shipsncl.htm Just select Pride of Hawaii then type in a specific cabin number. In general you will find that all cabins of a specific category are the same size unless they are handicapped cabins or, possibly, aft facing cabins. Hope this helps.
