wishfulcruiser Posted June 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2006 Dear Cruisecritics, Anyone know the email procedure on the MS Amadagio or similar river ship using the flat screen TV in the cabin with keyboard? I have just recently taught my Mom how to email using Yahoo, a computer and a mouse. Now, I understand Amadeus uses an 'Infoentertainment" setup. Do they touch the screen, use a mouse, a thumbpad? Amadeus explained the staff would be happy to instruct but just wanted to know if anyone has used this system and if it really is easy or if it is more complicated? You know what they say....just want to 'keep in touch' while they're out having the time of their lives!!!!!! Thank you for any help you can give us, SRC
Jswen Posted June 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2006 Hi Wish, I used the flat screen infoentertainment system for E-mails on the Amadagio on our 5/28 cruise. It would be good to have the staff help your Mom out with how the system works. I spent a lot of time (which I was paying for) figuring out how things worked and I use the internet a lot for work etc. You must purchase time, it is called a "licence" it can be purchased in increments of, 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days. I would only purchase an hour at a time just to send out mail to family and check my mail box every few days. The mouse is a little thumb device on the top of the key board. You have to select which server you want to use, that is where the trial and error came in for me. I don't remember the exact choices. (ask the staff) Some evenings the message came up that the server was busy so you would have to wait a few minutes to send your E mail, keep trying! Hope this helps, if you have more questions, just ask. Judy

Jswen Posted June 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2006 We used Euros. For that cruise they said credit card was also fine to use.
