Does the QM2 cross directly over the Titanic. I would like to pay my respects, and wanted to know if there is any type of announcent or information given to passengers if we do. Sailing T/A back to back Aug/Sept 2006 - wondering if she takes this course at this time of year. Thanks for any opinions or thoughts.

FYI I found this by doing a search on the word Titanic.

On our last TA (eastbound Nov 2005) to avoid big seas Capn Warner took us further South than normal.

On his noon address on morning 2 he announced that at 4.00pm that day we would be passing "virtually directly over the wreck of the Titanic".

With calming seas and setting sun it was a poignant moment shared by quite a few on deck at the time.

When we travelled QE2 eastbound, we passed south of the site. There was an announcement by the Captain as we were approaching and a further announcement saying that the area could be seen from the relevant side.
