SHINEMAN Posted June 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2006 It is amazing how many cruisers are sporting tattoos these days. How about a tattoo parlor on board? Great way to end up a night of partying. Great souvenier.

soprano Posted June 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I think a tattoo parlor would go over better on board a Carnival ship. Come on...is there REALLY that much difference between NCL and Carnival? I've sailed both, and these two are nearly identical to me. The only difference is the "free style" on NCL. But the clientele, to which I am assuming you are referring, its remarkably similar. If you are looking for a "non-tattoo" crowd on a main stream line, try Princess, Celebrity or HAL. jojo48 Posted June 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I just got off the NCL Crown and for the 1st time they offered "Australian Air Brush Tattoos". They last about a week. Great way to try a tattoo without the pain. That way if you don't like it or regret it - it will go away in about a week.
TBear416 Posted June 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I was just on the Spirit and had an airbrushed tattoo put on. Now I miss it and want to get a real one.
electricron Posted June 26, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2006 Why?Can't you get a tatoo at home, or in a visited port?Life aboard ship is already hazardous to your health with so many passengers in cramped quarters. Why break your skin and risk infections atop virsuses and bacteria?Besides, the cruise lines will probably charge more than twice for a tatoo than what you can get one ashore. The tattoo parlor can be right next to the bar with the "Nude Girls" sign out front. LOL -Monte

Hi, nope you can't get them wet until they heal and the scab comes off, has nothing to do with stinging. (I have three) :D May I add they are quite painful depending on where you get them. I think I would rather just swim, take sun and relax on my cruise.. But to each his own!!
Theresa522 Posted June 26, 2006 #11 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I think a tattoo parlor would go over better on board a Carnival ship. I have been on Carnival, NCL and RCCL. There were no difference in the people from one ship to the other. :D
jmcdon7230 Posted June 26, 2006 #12 Share Posted June 26, 2006 We just returned from the RCL Grandeur of the Seas on Friday out of Baltimore. After sailing on NCL ships for the last ten years, I can vouch for the fact that there is no difference in passengers....if anything this cruise was worse. Some looked like carny tatoo freaks. "Thug Life" tee shirts and raggedy denim cut off shorts in the dining room for Main Seating.
TG2005 Posted June 26, 2006 #13 Share Posted June 26, 2006 would you really want to be on aship bouncing around the ocean and get a tatoo, it would look like the tatoo artist was out drinking with you. :D
cruzeluver Posted June 26, 2006 #14 Share Posted June 26, 2006 Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I would love to see them quit looking for new onboard gimmicks and get back to what really makes cruising special, being out at sea on a beautiful ship. Enough with the surf machines, rock walls, skating rinks, roller coasters, bungee jumping etc. Its getting a little goofy!! (Climbing down off my soapbox now, thanks. :p )

There were no difference in the people from one ship to the other. :D Depends on the time of year you are sailing and the port you are sailing out of. Travel agents certainly steer young inexperienced cruisers towards Carnival. So common sense tells you the clientele will be different. I'm not putting Carnival down. It's just the "animal house" environment doesn't appeal to me during my cruise vacation. I think a tattoo parlor would fit right in.

And they should get a pawn shop too so you can refresh your wallet for buying more stuff on shore and use in the casino. You might also need it to bail your car out of the parking lot when you return.

smeyer418 Posted June 27, 2006 #21 Share Posted June 27, 2006 Is this thread really necessary? some of my best friends have tattoos...even Lydia....I could never get a tattoo it hurts too much and so many people get sick from them....but people can and do get them. I wonder when they are 70 what they are going to look like.
mbisson Posted June 27, 2006 #22 Share Posted June 27, 2006 I wonder when they are 70 what they are going to look like. Imagine getting a tattoo of an island (as a cruise reminder) when you're say 25 yrs old. At 70 it looks like a continent. Or a little dove that morphs into a buzzard. Or a little cruise line tender that turns into a hugh cruise ship. -Monte
sinkers22 Posted June 27, 2006 #23 Share Posted June 27, 2006 I think a tattoo parlor would go over better on board a Carnival ship. Why the snide remark about Carnival? We've been on 2 NCL cruises, 1 RCCL cruise and are taking our 2nd Carnival Legend cruise in September. I noticed no difference in the clientele on any of the ships. All 3 lines had very nice people and obnoxious drunks. Leave Carnival Alone! :D
