Ju1es Posted July 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2006 We will be stopping in St.Lucia in August and were looking for a shore excursion to do. Is there anything that shouldn't be missed? We like snorkelling and stuff like that so those would be ideal but if there is something else that is really good we would love to hear about it. Thanks so much! CazLeon Posted July 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2006 Hi - if you want to do some of the sights whilst in St. Lucia plus some snorkelling then try Franks Taxi Tours - we were on holiday there in May/June and had a great tour with Frank. Email address is franktax@hotmail.com. Have a nice time.
OCNJ Cruiser Posted July 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2006 With St. Lucia being one of the southern most islands, it is full of rainforests. You can snorkel virtually anwhere, but not every island has waterfalls and mountains that are waiting to be hiked! Try to find a tour that will take you to the Pitons. They may be a long ride from the pier but they are beautiful.
bonbob Posted August 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2006 We are stopping at St Lucia in Nov - we heard there is alot of poverty and begging from someone, but others say no. Does anyone have any experience? We were in Jamaica last year, and had a very unpleasant experience, and 2 of our sons were ripped off - of course, it was there fault, but we don't want to have a similar experience. Does anyone have any feedback on this island.
rumpunchdancer Posted August 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 7, 2006 Anse Chastnet was wonderful for snorkelling as the reef and coral was world class! Island ATV Tours was an incredible adventure. Also we horseback with Atlantic Shores Riding Stables. a wonderful way to cap off our vacation as the scenery and hospitality was priceless! We booked the Calypso Beach ride. It was a very different adventure. My wife even got to play the steel pans! The food was delicious. We had grilled fish,Bar B que Chicken, salad, drinks and it was all so delicious. They even provided us with lounge chairs to relax and enjoy the rays. Call him in advance as he can have transportation arranged alot cheaper than the reps at tourist desk. We also had enough time to enjoy they souvenir shopping when we got back to the ship. We felt so safe and comfortable with Max as he was so friendly. We also fell in love with those beautiful horses of his. My hubby tried the wind surfin on the beach nearby and he also loved it. The ocean was beautiful!!!!!!!!
Ju1es Posted August 14, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted August 14, 2006 We ended up not booking a tour and just walking around going to shops and stuff. We were off the ship for less than an hour! It was a terrible area of the island and people were very pushy to get you to buy something. If we went back there again we would be sure to book a tour or stay on the ship!
