FL LuluBelle Posted July 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2006 Hi, when I booked my cruise for Oct 29 on the Miracle, I got a "discount" rate because I had sailed with there "sister" cruiseline HAL. Am I included in the past guests party?:) Thanks, LU
hstrybuf Posted July 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 2, 2006 I really have no idea! I guess you'll find out when or if you receive an invitation in your cabin.
big_duck Posted July 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 2, 2006 I doubt it, for the same reason you won't get a gold S&S card. Past guest programs do not count on sister lines within Carnival (other then discounts).
Cotton Posted July 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 2, 2006 From what I understand, those amenities aren't extended to other ships in Carnival's holdings, so you'll be considered a first time Carnival cruiser, and will have a red/white/blue card. Sorry.
cruiseluver323 Posted July 2, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 2, 2006 Do all past guests get a "gold" S&S card? This is the first that I have heard of that.
big_duck Posted July 2, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2006 Do all past guests get a "gold" S&S card? This is the first that I have heard of that. Yes (unless you are platinum of course). The program was started about a year ago.
Cotton Posted July 2, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 2, 2006 Do all past guests get a "gold" S&S card? This is the first that I have heard of that. First cruise - red/white/blue card Second through ninth cruises - gold card (past guest party & ship's lapel pin) Tenth and more cruises - platinum card (with lots of perks)
FL LuluBelle Posted July 2, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted July 2, 2006 Thanks Cotton. After I posted, I re-thought the question and realized that my trips on HAL wouln't probably count. Guess on next years 07 cruise, on the Glory, I'll be attending! I don't drink so I would only be mingling anyway!! LU
Cotton Posted July 3, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 3, 2006 You're welcome. Hope you enjoy Carnival; I like trying different lines. The more variety in life, the better.:)
FL LuluBelle Posted July 3, 2006 Author #10 Share Posted July 3, 2006 I agree with you Cotton. I love trying different cruiselines. I love the intimacy of HAL's small ships, enjoyed The Mariner of the Sea's ~ but not the food, and we go on Carnival when with a group or relatives! This will be our 5th cruise and I am counting down the days!!!!! We also enjoy going around Halloween so we can dress-up and enjoy the party. robtx100 Posted July 3, 2006 #11 Share Posted July 3, 2006 It works the same if you are a past Carnival cruiser and go on one of the other lines. I sailed on Princess earlier this year and no past guest party after 5 Carnival cruises.
