Baggage Limits

I am confussed. We are flying from Mpls./St paul to Chicago on United and then SAS to Copenhagen. After looking at the SAS web site I don't know if the limit is 44 pounds or 70 pounds per item. I know that United is 50 pounds. I think I could really use the extra six pound if 50 pounds are allowed on SAS.
