What beach to got to?????

Just trying to decide what to do when we arrive in St. Thomas. I heard about Meaghan's Bay, but then I also heard that some say it isn't all that. For the 6 of us to get there and get in, we figured it would cost us about $120.00 for the cab and entrance fee. Is there something just as nice, but closer to the pier? Anyone have any suggestions? Or should I just shell out the $$$ and go there because it is soooo worth it. Any advice would be appreciated. I have never been there before. Helpful hints needed.

There are lots of beautiful beaches on St. Thomas... check out the beach guide at http://www.*****/stthomas/beaches_stt/ and go through the photos/descriptions and see which ones sound ideal to you based on what you are looking for in a beach... snorkeling, watersports, bar/drinks, food, peace & quiet. Also you might post what you are looking for so folks can help you narrow it down.
