Advice On Discovery Cruise To Bahamas

Hi Fellow Carnivalites!!

After some absentee to the Carnival Boards I am back for some advice. I love cruising and love Carnival don't get me wrong. My wife and I are taking a trip to Florida with the kids but for two days want to take a quick getaway to the bahamas for some relaxation time( NO KIDS!!!) I know the Discovery Cruise is nothing like a Carnival or any other type of cruise ship but is it OK just to get to and from the Bahamas. I'm just looking for a less expensive way to get a package deal to and from and two nights at a hotel than flying which is very expensive given the Bahamas close proximity to Florida. I know the food is not great, the ship is probably old, the entertainment stinks but all I want is to get there safe, have a few drinks and RELAX!!! WHAT DO YOU SAY???????????

Sounds like you are prepared - to not enjoy it.

Discovery is perfectly fine for what you are looking for. I think you will have more fun than you think.

Get on -have b'fast - sit by pool - relax - go to casino - has a cruise director by pool - after lunch you will be in Freeport.

On the way back people swim, relax, cocktails, dinner, some entertainment - then you get tired. Around 11 - you get to FLL .

The daytrippers are exhausted or had too many-the overnighters aren't too bad.

I like it for feeling like a cruise and just watching the water. Go & have fun.
