In Grand Cayman, there is very good snorkeling at Eden Rock Dive Center. Just a short walk from the pier. When you get off the tender at the pier, take a right on the sidewalk along the road and Eden Rock Dive Center will be on your right just a little ways down. I don't remember if there is a fee to snorkel, or only if you rent their equipment. I think there is recent info on the Port of Calls board.

In Cozumel, you may want to try Chankanaab(sp?) Park. It has been closed since hurricane Wilma, but is suppose to reopen in August, I think. It is a short taxi ride from the pier. The entrance fee is about $10 - $12. You can also find info on the Cozumel Port of Call board.

Very easy snorkeling on your own at these two ports.
