The Summit

Was wondering if anyone just off the summit could tell the name of the captain. We are leaving on the Aug.12/06 for Alaska. This is our first cruise and would also like to know what is in the cabins as far as toiletries. The less we have to pack the better. Thanks for any info.:)

I can let you know after we return from a 7/22/06 Alaska sailing on hte Summit although from what i have seen on the Celebrity site and here, basic toiletries are similar to a hotel - shampoo\conditioner, soap, lotion, iron\board, and a very basic one speed hair dryer.

There is DEFINITELY no iron/board. Those are not allowed on pretty much ANY cruise ship (although some lines have them in designated laundry rooms) because of the risk of fire.

If you need to have something ironed however, the prices are very reasonable!

The shampoo/conditoner is pretty harsh. You might want to take your own. They do have showercaps, no toothbrush or toothpaste. Our bathroom was very musty, so if you have room for an air freshener it might be worth packing.
