Paulras Posted July 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2006 I'll be on the Crown in September. Does anyone know if you can access a Remote Desktop from the internet cafe onboard? I don't plan on working on my vacation, but it'll save me alot of grief in the long run if I log on to check email, etc. every couple of days. My company's Remote or Virual Desktop requires you to connect to a specific website which must download a small application (Symantec On-Demand Agent) to the computer before you can log into your account. If it doesn't work, I'd have to bring a laptop (which I don't want to do). Has anyone tried something similar before on Princess in the internet cafe? rkdahl Posted July 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Nope. You can only do this from your laptop via wireless access in the atrium at $10.50 for 30 min. The Internet Cafe does not allow any downloads, uploads or external connections to their PC's. They also have a firewall with content filtering. Toto2Kansas Posted July 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Your laptop will have to accompany you unless you can redirect your email to an online mail account. Sorry! :(
Crockett Man Posted July 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2006 If your company uses Outlook ask your e-mail administrator if they are running Outlook for Web Access. If so you can access your e-mail from any PC that has Internet access.
