rome post cruise

Hi

We have only a day and a half in rome arter our cruise, I want to pre book tickets if possible for the colliseum/forum etc...not really interested in the papal side of the river. any info one how to reserve in advance and suggestions on other must sees appreciated.

Also, can anyone tell me what a "normal" taxi fare from termini to the colliseum are should be?

Can't tell you the cost of the taxi ride but have your driver drop you off at the ticket office at the Palatine Hill. Buy a ticket there for the Hill and Colliseum.You will then be able to then walk straight by the long line of people waiting to purchase tickets at the Colliseum. We were given this tip by a local last year and it definitely is the way to go. Entrance to the Forum is free and the all three sights are adjacent to each other. People often make the mistake of not seeing the Palatine Hill which in many ways is more interesting than the forum.There is no need to purchase advance tickets. Hope that helps.
