andydee Posted July 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Can't tell you the cost of the taxi ride but have your driver drop you off at the ticket office at the Palatine Hill. Buy a ticket there for the Hill and Colliseum. You will then be able to then walk straight by the long line of people waiting to purchase tickets at the Colliseum. We were given this tip by a local last year and it definitely is the way to go. Entrance to the Forum is free and the all three sights are adjacent to each other. People often make the mistake of not seeing the Palatine Hill which in many ways is more interesting than the forum. There is no need to purchase advance tickets. Hope that helps. Cheers, Andy
