I booked there. Anyone else staying there? James here: Yes we are staying at the comfort Inn on 2520 Stirling Rd. We are arriving Saturday evening around 5:00 pm. Quiltingbluecat Posted October 10, 2006 #204 Share Posted October 10, 2006 Hi James. We arrive in Ft. Lauderdale at 3 PM Saturday. I hear there is a mall near the hotel so I am sure my daughter and I will take advantage of some last minute shopping and maybe a dip in the pool. Look forward to meeting you and your wife! Quiltingbluecat Posted October 16, 2006 #211 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Hi all. I am looking forward to our get together at the pizza station! It will be so much fun to put faces with the names! I am itching to be able to go to the malls to shop for curise wear but my knee is not quite ready for that yet...although I am doing really great in my rehab. Do you know whether the ship supplies pool towels? And does it have an ATM?
madhouseinc Posted October 16, 2006 #212 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Hi all. The ship provides both poolside towels as well as towels for us to bring to the beach I think. Am really interested in ATM's also - they had them on Carnival, but they run out of money pretty quickly. Sometimes I think you can get cash at the casino's cashiers cage. Going to check with my bank to see if they have branches in San Juan and St. Thomas. Oh my - another question for Henry  - feel so sorry for him. Since QVC is having a introduction-party first day, we may just plan our little get-together around that - before it hopefully.

I rechecked the FAQ's for our cruise and found this How do I pay for drinks and any other purchases? For the convenience of guests, a "cashless society" has been created, which means that you sign for your drinks and bar purchases. At the end of the cruise your itemized bill may be settled with cash, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. I always choose to try to leave a cash deposit. My DH works for a credit card company and she told me that if you take cash from your credit card the interest you day is out of sight. But I am a cash nut. dsuem Posted October 19, 2006 #220 Share Posted October 19, 2006 hi all, the cruise card is really all you need on board, (cash or credit card for shopping off ship and cash the ship casino) The cruise card is also your room key, When you arrive at the ship, they ask for a credit card or a cash deposit, you can set a limit on your card, then everytime you purchase something it is put on your cruise card and at then end of cruise they total it and put it on your credit card. You get a detailed summery of purchase's everyday, left in your cabin so you can keep track. If your using cash it does the same thing, only not put on credit card. The casino is the only place on ship you actually need cash..So take your ship cruise card with you at all times..On last cruise I also bought a soda card for sodas, if I put soda on my cruise card it was as much as a mixed drink..with soda card you can have as much soda as you want for the price of card....Sue;)
forecastle Posted October 20, 2006 #221 Share Posted October 20, 2006 FYI anyone---On the Opera Tosca deck(11) which encompasses the pool, pizza station, grill station ,the whole deck is enclosed with a glass wall, about 3/4 way up there are fixed open louvers, which creates sort of a wind tunnel. This is same on Lirica Vivadi deck(11) OK the reason for post, this past Feb. and April. cruises it was very windy & chilly, the speed of ship and wind speed=cold. Not to worry after 2 days, weather warmed up. People coming form warm climates be sure to bring a jacket, windbreaker etc. People from Northern areas I'm sure will have such. If the crew is doing pressure washing,on the deck above don't sit near glass you'll get wet from the over spray. Have a great cruise.

madhouseinc Posted October 26, 2006 #225 Share Posted October 26, 2006 The wonderful guy that has helped me from day 1 and has dealt very well with me said that calls directly to him are welcome. His name is Henry and his direct number is 786.543.4249 - just isn't a toll free number - but he will call you right back so you don't waste your long distance charges Read a few threads regarding online pre-registration - asked "our guy" at MSC about it and this is what he said.... Guests can preregister their passport information by visiting www.msccruisesgetforms.com This is the declaration form required; In the past, the information would be filled out at the pier. Now, it saves lots of time and makes the embarkation quite smooth . I just went to the MSC home and them clicked on "forms". You just cannot pre-register until you have your packet - you need to put in your booking number. 72 days my friends :D
