Was there the midnight buffet on the cruises that had a 2nd formal night?
Yes - it was held on the 2nd formal night, which was the second-to-last night of the cruise.

Another strange thing about this 2nd formal night was that it was on a port day, and we were in port until 6:00 pm. But, as most people were caught off-guard, most people did not dress for it. I agree it was a mix-up in the Capers, as that was the only place it was noted.

Just got off the ship July 20th. Went to the dining room every night. Only one formal night. Noticed on other nights, people were allowed in with shorts cutoff T shirts. We mentioned this to our Matrie D and he said we not fighting the dress policy for the crusies out of New York due to the resistance they get from passengers who do not adhere to the dress policy. So dress as you want, its your cruise.

That's a shame. We love formal night. You should have seen my place on Sunday night. Between our family and our friends' we've got 2 sixteen year olds (1 boy, 1 girl) and 2 13 year olds (both girls)going next month. My son had outgrown his suit and loves to get decked out for formal night so we went out a couple of weeks ago and bought a new suit, shirt, tie etc. The girls all went shopping on Sunday with us moms and got pretty dresses to wear. When we got back to our house they all put their outfits on with dark sunglasses and posed and strutted around like goofballs. Each time we cruise they are so pumped to get all dressed up and then go to the disco like that after supper. So much fun.
