miraclecavs Posted July 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2006 Just wanted to drop a note about a great dive op in Belize. :) Hubby and I just got back from Carnival Miracle 7/16-7/23/2006. We had read on these boards to take the Carnival shore excursion for the 2 tank dive in Belize, as the tender literally is the dive boat and goes straight to the dive site. Hugh Parkey is the dive op -- the boat was really nice, super clean, even the head, with an upstairs deck for sunning. The folks who rented got really nice equipment [and you know how scary the equipment can be in remote places  ]. We actually got a full dive briefing, as well as tons of snacks, Cokes and bottled water. All of the divemasters had slates - the group was divided into smaller groups of 6 [instead of the usual 20 people playing follow the leader] - and ID'd lots of aquatic life, almost a Naturalist course, the site and the info was so good. We were kinda iffy about using the Carnival shore excursion - but it was fabulous!
KaC-Cruiser Posted July 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2006 Yeah, we booked with Princess a few years back and they also use Hugh Parkey. It was a well run op, and did divide into nice small groups by experience. When we had more port time, we've also booked independently with Sea Sport Belize, and they were your typical small 6 pack, but they did a great job. Even provided lunch the time we booked!
